  • Our 5 favorite vegan bags from Matt & Nat this fall - 2019 Our 5 favorite vegan bags from Matt & Nat this fall - 2019

0 comments / Posted on by Dom Girard

A change of season means new collections! There is one brand I always look forward to, it's Matt & Nat! I love their bold styles, textures and choice of colors. I am even more excited to discover this years fall / winter collection as I love the fall color palettes. Oh and in case you don't know the brand yet, all products are 100% vegan and the interiors are made from recycled water bottles! Another good reason to love them ...;)

Here are my top 5 new fall favorites!

The new kid on the block. The Oshie backpack captured my attention from the first glance! I love everything: its shape, its front pocket that pops out and gives dimension and I especially love the top opening. It's a mid-size backpack that can hold a 13 "laptop.

When we think of Matt & Nat ... we always think about the Brave backpack. This iconic bag is back again this season with stunning new colors. Obviously it is still available in black, for those who want a classic, but I wanted to showcase the 3 colors that really caught my eye! First of all the green leaf (very trendy this season) with the gold details is perfect! Pretty easy to match, not too flashy, but still a little different. Then we have the pebble color, which is a pink / nude with rose-gold detail. I love this color because we rarely see light colors in autumn and it's refreshing. A plus: this color will also be perfect when spring comes around! And finally, stand out from the crowd with this beautiful rich red!
    For those who dare ;)

I don,t know about you, but personally I love to use a backpack as my go-to bag and the Fabi-mini fits the bill perfectly! Its medium size makes it easy to carry all your essentials with just enough extra room to add a water bottle or a packable coat (like the Emeline from Lole). And for those who love this style, but who are looking for space, the Fabi is also available in a larger version! Just as pretty and it even has a pocket for a 13 "laptop!

Another bag that has won our hearts is the Silvi. This is THE bag that will follow you every day for years! Not too big, not too small, not too simple or too extravagant ... this bag is sure to please everyone! The interior includes a phone slot, two compartments separated by a third that closes with a zipper (gotta love storage!) All closed with a snap button. Its long strap is adjustable AND removable, which can be used as a clutch for a party or event. It is available in many colors, from black to plum to light gray or pink. You can not go wrong, it's a must-have!

And finally, another brand classic: the smaller-sized triplet bag. It takes its name from the fact that it has three distinct zippered compartments. For those who do not want to have to go through a large bag looking for something, this bag is a great little gem! It is offered in a wide variety of colors to satisfy all styles and tastes!

  • Survive the heat wave in style Survive the heat wave in style

0 comments / Posted on by Dom Girard

I don't know about you, but we are more than happy that summer has finally arrived. The heat has taken its time coming, but is now in full force! Unless you spend the day in the freshness of an air conditioned, you have no choice but to adapt to the heat wave. There are plenty of important things like (obviously) getting hydrated and sunscreen several times a day, but a good choice of clothes can also help you have a more pleasant summer. Here are some tips and suggestions for surviving the heat wave within the means of your wardrobe!

SLAK > left: Jello top , center: Sorbet dress , right: Macaron top

My first suggestion is to opt for natural materials. It's hot, we want our clothes to breathe. If you opt for synthetic materials, the heat that your body releases will stay locked in your clothes and will cause you to sweat. Opt for natural materials that will let through the heat, for example, bamboo fiber. It is an ultra breathable material, which dries quickly and even better ... it's super soft! The brand SLAK as a few very cute styles in this material, like the 3 shown above.

    Frank Lyman > left: 191170 , center: 191188 , right: 191430

Another interesting suggestion is to opt for larger clothes. You can take a larger size (the oversized look is still very trendy!) Or go for a fluid item, like these Frank Lyman jumpsuits. They are great options for the office: elegant, long legs (but ample!) And can be worn easily with a neutral bolero or a blazer (for air-conditioned offices!).

    1: Schwiing dress Peny , 2: California Moonrise top clk4956 , 3: Pink Martini dress dr-12334 , 4: Mode Gitane dress V-39

My next recommendation may seem like common sense in the summer, but I wanted to mention it just in case ... avoid dark colors. As I said, it's quite easy to achieve since the vast majority of summer collections tend to be in lighter shades. No need to attract any extra heat!

    SOIA&KYO >> 1: Dolce cap , 2: Cedine scraf , 3: Amani scarf , 4: Toula hat

And finally, my last but not least suggestion ... accessorize! Because even if you dress in large, pale and natural materials, you are still not immune to the fierceness of the sun's rays. I strongly recommend that you always wear a hat, a cap or a light scarf. The cap and the hat are common sense: it is important to protect your head and your facial skin which is very delicate, a scarf can come in handy, rather than dragging an umbrella or sunshade, simply covering your shoulders with a very light fabric will protect you efficiently. In addition, you can match the scarf with your outfit to complete your look. Kill two birds with one stone!

  • Vegan looks with Point Zero and Matt&Nat Vegan looks with Point Zero and Matt&Nat

0 comments / Posted on by Dom Girard

More and more, clothing and accessories brands are offering more eco-responsible product ranges ... much to everyone's delight. Although it may not be your # 1 criteria, you can do your part by buying a bag made from bottles or a vegan coat. Today I've decided to show you 100% vegan looks, with some useful tips on colors :)

If you're are a fan of vegan looks, I invite you to read Yes to local designers and Vegan!

Recently mentioned on our Facebook and Instagram pages, the bag DEELY from the latest MATT & NAT collection,  is sure to have you excited! I'm in love with its original shape, color selection and its not-too-small-not-too-big format. For this look, I chose it in the frappé color, a brown-beige that goes with everything and is easy to match with all your jackets and even all your summer clothes. For those who want the whole look, I matched it here with the LESLIEVILLE jacket of POINT ZERO in scarlet. It's a lightweight, comfortable and compressible jacket (it comes with a small travel pouch that can be used as a travel pillow). Oh and also vegan ;) I love the result of these two colors together!

If you're a fan of MATT & NAT, you've surely come across the BRAVE, the most popular backpack of the brand. It comes in several colors and textures and offers plenty of space! I chose it in the stone color from the loom collection with a lustrous finish. The details and zippers are in a delicate rose-gold, which contrasts well with the color of the bag. I matched it again with the LESLIEVILLE jacket, but this time in the ginger color, which harmonizes well with the pink details of the bag.

The final vegan look that I have to offer is more for those who like to follow trends and are not afraid to stand-out! This jacket from POINT ZERO in the Silver-Metallic is one of my favorites! I didn't expect to like the aluminum look, but it's really out of the ordinary and it's ultra bright! And being extra daring, I matched it with the BRAVE bag from the dwell collection in the new spring dusk color - a pale blue that makes us dream of the summer sun! The mix of both is exciting and beautiful!

There you go,  my 3 looks inspired by vegan and eco-friendly product lines. It's great to have more and more  quality choices!

  • This week's essential : EMELINE by Lolë This week's essential : EMELINE by Lolë

0 comments / Posted on by Dom Girard

If there's one brand that, year after year, that I look forward to receiving the new collection, it's LOLË! They offer a large variety of products, all beautiful and trendy, but ESPECIALLY extremely practical and well thought out.

Of course, we can't talk about the LOLË spring collection without mentioning the EMELINE jacket. This is a classic that returns every season and is undoubtedly our best seller. Every year it is revised and updated but the foundation remains the same ...

A short ,quilted, packable jacket with a hood.
It sounds simple ... but don't be fooled!

The EMELINE jacket is the ideal companion for the lover of outdoor activities. It's light and packable (in a small pouch that comes with it), so that you can easily put it away if the temperature warms up, or bring it with you "just in case"! EMELINE jackets are insulated with responsibly sourced down from certified farms in partnership with ALLIED. Each jacket comes with a serial number and by visiting trackmydown.com, you have access to the source of your down and the exact down powerfill.

What I like a lot about the EMELINE is its versatility. Yes, it's originally a jacket designed for outdoor physical activities since it's lightweight and breathable, but its uses do not stop there! I love to wear it under something else, to give me extra warmth. Like for example, under a softshell jacket that is designed for temperatures between 0 and 10 degrees. With the two jackets combined, you can easily go down to -10 degrees while staying super comfortable. And while you're there... why not play with some colors!

The EMELINE jacket from Lolë is an excellent investment. Whether it's for traveling, for sports or just to have fun ... it's a purchase you won't regret!

Lolë also carry winter jackets and accessories! Discover our top 3 looks in our blog LOLË - for active women

     **BONUS**

Use the code EMELINE10 at checkout to get a 10$ off ALL the EMELINE styles!! The code is valid until Wednesday March 10th 11:59pm and can only be applied on online orders.

  • 4 winter jackets under $500 4 winter jackets under $500

    Soïa & Kyo - Felycia

It's simple ... this coat is one of my all-time favorites! The price / quality ratio is incomparable! Felycia by Soïa & Kyo is a winter jacket filled with 90% duck down and 10% feather with a fill capacity of 700+. Despite what its appearance suggests, the Felycia is water repellent in addition to providing protection against wind and humidity. All this plus two zipper layers to ensure better insulation and an oversized hood (also insulated with down / feather). What more could you ask for? A beautiful and timeless jacket ... all for less than $ 500!

    Lolë - Gisele luw0462

For the sporty girl in you, Lolë is always the best choice! I particularly like Gisele, a cute winter jacket insulated with the Downglow ™ technology, well known and appreciated by Lolë. The Gisele is a great length, offering two layers of zippers and a two-way exterior zipper. A water repellent protection in addition to a very advantageous cut!

    Sicily - Kay

Sicily is really a brand that deserves recognition. With their coats insulated with Fiberfil Westco technology, they are all tested to -37 degrees ... colder than that, we stay in! The Kay jacket is no exception and is all the more attractive because of its slim fit accentuated by a removable belt. It has a practical length and has plenty of pockets to protect your essentials from the cold. The hood has a gorgeous natural fur trim that closes around your neck to protect you from the cold winds of Canadian winter.

    Point Zero - 8918561

In the past years, Point Zero has carved out a place in winter fashion with trendy styles and good value for money. This jacket with a dramatic removable faux fur collar is no exception. 100% vegan, it offers protection up to -20 degrees! It is embellished with two zipper layers, the outer one being asymmetrical to favor your silhouette and give it a modern look. All this at less than $ 200? Oh yeah!

    Ookpik - Alpine

The last but not least comes from a brand that I like a lot, Ookpik. A coat all in simplicity, without fur, without decorations, but believe me not without style! A quilted parka with 90% down and 10% feather filling with a filling capacity of 600. In addition, the hood is lined with a premium sheep imitation to provide maximum warmth. Pair it with an oversized scarf like Lolë's law0549 to complete the look!
